Troyer AG

Sector

Energy. Hydroelectric

Application

Large turbines (Pelton, Kaplan e Francis) and ball valves with power gradually growing to 30 MW.

Project goal

Optimization of the manufacturing processes to meet the increasing demand for precision and efficiency.

Project solution

SORALUCE FP80 floor type milling machine and SORALUCE TAM25 multitasking machine. These machines were specifically tailored to meet Troyer´s unique production requirements, allowing for greater flexibility and precision.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Multitasking: turning and milling operations on a single setup, significantly reducing setup times and increasing overall efficiency. Both machines are equipped with high torque multitasking heads.
  • Precision finishing:  High speed 5-axis contouring orthogonal head with electrospindle up to 74 kW and 12,000 rpm (FP80). Accura Heads system for head calibration and excellent machine accuracy for a specific head orientation.
  • Customized workspace: Ø1500 mm and 5,00 kg capacity multitasking table in the TAM25 machine and two different working areas of Ø2,000 x 2,500 mm with 1,500 traverse and 20,000 kg loading capacity, one of them with multitasking capability in the FP80 machine.
  • Increased Productivity: The machines´ advanced capabilities, such as automatic head changing system or pendulum machining, led to a substantial increase in Troyer´s production capacity, allowing them to meet demanding customer deadlines.

Based on these criteria and with the aim of increasing production capacity and the size of the parts that can be processed, we have recently installed two Soraluce machines: one floor type milling machine SORALUCE FP80 and one multitasking TAM25. The two machines have been customized to better fit both the building´s structure and our specific production requirements. The main advantage achieved with both machines is the capability, thanks to their multitasking design, to perform both turning and milling operations directly on a single machine and in a single set-up.
